Late in 2021, I worked with All Things Small to write scripts for a Royal Challengers Bangalore podcast.
I love how they’ve turned out: The great stories were thanks to the subjects, and the audio production only does those stories more favours.
You’d think that a podcast called “How the IPL changed my life” may get repetitive. You’d think it’s about the money and little else. But I found myself constantly surprised at how varied the players’ experiences and takeaways from the tournament are.
My favourite episodes are the ones featuring Harshal Patel, Mohammad Siraj and Yuzvendra Chahal.
I also learnt plenty working on the episodes for AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell, Devdutt Padikkal, Kyle Jamieson and Sanjay Bangar. Everyone at a different stage of their IPL journeys.
I’ve watched RCB’s digital content strategy from far with some envy. Ajith Ramamurthy and his team have been leaders in both fan engagement and building commercial partnerships through their video products. Danish Sait, whether as himself or in costume as Mr Nags, offers something so unique. And to be a small part of something they created was a thrill.
